SMART Objectives
1. Host the event at the Thornapple Room on November 14th, 2012, which is located on the bottom floor of Kirkhof in Allendale. Make sure the room is both accessible and enjoyable for undergraduate students.
2. Stay within our $500.00 budget by planning ahead and used the allotted money effectively.
3. Attract 75-100 degree seeking undergraduate students to attend the Open House for the Hospitality and Tourism Management Program.
4. Effectively inform undergraduates of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Open House by using different marketing techniques throughout the development of the DSUG Event. Below is a timeline of events:

- Three weeks in advance we will create a DSUG Event page on Facebook, and send out a postcard to our target market by direct mail.
- Two weeks in advance we will place table tents on tables in Kirkhof on the Allendale Campus, and create an event on Grand Valley’s homepage calendar of events.
- One week before the event we will write information about the DSUG Event on whiteboards throughout Grand Valley classrooms; we will place informational flyers throughout the Allendale and Grand Rapids campus. The HTM 240 students will also participate in a informational flyer dorm storm on the Allendale campus.
- On the day of the event, students will continue to hand out informational flyers about the event, and students will promote the event by word of mouth.
